December Christmas Party
The final meeting of the Society each year is traditionally not a tasting but a Christmas celebration during which good food and wine is enjoyed, but not marked, in a party atmosphere. I welcomed 53 members to the tasting at the Restaurant Nau Nau in the Jávea Club Nautico on 6th December and having chosen the wines for the evening introduced each one in turn. 2019 Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting will be held at 6.30pm on Thursday January 17January 2019 in Hotel Sol y Mar Calpe. All members are invited to attend. An agenda will be posted on the website under the heading AGM in advance of the meeting and you will be advised when it has been posted. At the meeting I will stand down as President. The current Vice President, Maureen Holliday, has indicated her willingness to stand for election as President. The following positions will also become vacant and are provisionally filled subject to approval from members at the AGM:
Venues & Menus team
The Programme for 2019 will be presented by the new President at the AGM. In the meanwhile, the dates and venues of our tastings in 2019 is posted on the website under the heading Programme.
Top Ten Wines
The top ten wines tasted in 2018 is now displayed on the website.
The January tasting will be held immediately after the AGM at the Restaurante Abiss in Calpe which is next door to the hotel Sol y Mar on the 17th January 2019. This is a members only tasting.
