When a vacancy has been confirmed the Membership Fee of 20 Euros should be paid into the Society’s Bank Account as follows giving your name as a reference.

INFORMATION ON THE SOCIETY

·         The Society was founded in 1992 by Anton Massel.  Its constitution is registered and Members elect officers in January of each year.

·         The Aim of the Society is to assist members of many nationalities to discern good value wines.

·         The Society is non profit making and does not trade in wine.

·         Meetings are normally held in the evening of the third Thursday of the month.  The Christmas meeting may vary and there are no meetings in July and August.

·         A short talk usually precedes the tasting, which is followed by a meal, paid for on arrival.

·         Members complete a score sheet for each wine tasted and an average score is calculated.  Scores of individuals are compared with the average and the members nearest to this level overall are awarded The Wine Taster of the Year or The President’s Trophy in December.

·         A programme outlining our activities is published after the Annual General Meeting and posted on this website,

·         Smoking is not permitted at the Wine Tastings.

·         Reservation with menu choice should be sent to Caryl Skelton  caryl@vivavillalonga.com or telephone 96 578 7557 or mobile 635 352 563 who will confirm your reservation.

·         Cancellation after the Monday deadline or no-shows are liable for payment.

·         Guests are welcome to participate in most meetings on payment of a small surcharge.

·         A Newsletter is circulated monthly to members and those on the waiting list.

·         Excursions are arranged to local and national wine producing areas. The Society accepts no personal liability regarding any of its planned activities.  Participants attend at their own insurance risk.
