Tours and Trips
May 4th - 7th
Society 3 day Tour to Calatayud & Carinena
The society’s 2010 wine trip will take place from the 4th to 7th May to the Denominacions de Origen of Calatayud and Cariñena. The trip will be based on Calatayud and members will be staying in the Hospederia Meson de la Dolores, a building which has a history going back to the 15th century.
Three bodegas will be visited in the DO of Calatayud, Bodegas San Alejandro, Cooperativa San Gregorio and the Bodega of Castillo de Maluenda which is part of Bodegas y Viñedos del Jalón. In Cariñena two bodegas will be visited, Bodega Ignacio Marin and Bodegas Añadas, better known to members as Care. The society will be having lunch at this bodega.
Also included in the trip is an optional visit to the Monasterio de Piedra and on the return journey there will be an opportunity to visit the town of Daroca where we will have lunch. Two receptions and two dinners, one at Meson de la Dolores and the other at Restaurante Casa Escartín in Calatayud have been arranged. There will also be some free time to allow members to look around the town of Calatayud.
