June Tasting

I welcomed 68 members and guests to the Puerto Blanco
restaurant in Calpe, for our last tasting before the summer break.  This was the perfect venue to have a Ladies Presentation of our favourite Cavas

Wine Temperatures

Tim Fawle was going through some old CBWS papers and found the attached communication from Year 2000.  As the summer has now arrived, this provides a greater clarity to the suggested wine drinking temperatures and how this relates to the ambient and refrigerated  levels. Some of you may recognise the names of the committee some 19 years ago.


September Tasting

As we do not hold any tastings in July and August, our next one will be on September 19th at La Senia Hotel, Nou Roma in Denia.

The September and October presentations have been swapped around and so the September tasting will be a Wine Trip Special presented by the Wine trip Team past and present who each will present one of their favourite wines that we have tasted on previous wine trips.  It promises to be an interesting evening in the beautiful setting of La Senia Hotel. We hope that you will put the date in your diary now, so you don’t miss an opportunity to catch up with fellow members, while tasting fine wines and good food.

We will be sending more information, menu choices etc at the end of August.

Barry Burnett

It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of Barry at his home in the UK in early June.

Barry and his wife Pam have been long term members and were regular attendees at CBWS tastings. Barry’s humour was always appreciated and there were many laughs in his company particularly on our wine trips. He will be sadly missed.

I hope you have a great summer and wherever you are now, I look forward to seeing you at the tasting on the 19th September for our first evening together after the summer break.
