This will be my last Newsletter to you before I retire from the Committee next month.

The December tasting at the A Bordo Restaurante in Javea was attended by 34 members.

Despite our reduced numbers, we had a fun night, good wine and food served in a friendly and professional style.

As this was the President’s choice we enjoyed some wines we have tasted throughout the year. Photos and a brief report of the evening are available on the website or click here

The Next Monthly Wine Tasting and AGM – January 16th 2020

As you know our January meeting includes the AGM followed by a tasting of wines selected by the new President.  On this occasion members of the Committee have also been invited to present their choice of wine.

The AGM will commence at 18.30 hours at the Sol y Mar Hotel, Calpe.  This is the opportunity for all members to attend and participate in the proceedings.  The Agenda is already posted on the website under the heading AGM 2020 or you can click here

Your committee have been unsuccessful in finding anyone prepared to stand for the position of Vice President in 2020. May I urge you to think carefully whether this is something you would consider putting yourself forward for or do you know anyone else we may approach? We hope that as many members as possible will attend and if you cannot attend and wish to register please register your apologies with the secretary – PaulSmithard@aol.com – if you have not already done so.

For those of you who would like to stay overnight in the Sol y Mar hotel, we have negotiated a reduced rate when you book on line. You will need to enter the code CBWSJANUARY. The discount will click in on booking. We are unable to give rates as the hotel has told us rates fluctuate.

BOOKINGS SHOULD BE MADE WITH SANDY FAWLE AS PENNY IS TRAVELLING

Please let Sandy know if you want to attend so that she can note your menu choice and confirm your place. The closing date for booking is Friday 10th January at noon. If maximum numbers are reached, then places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Sandy would prefer you to email but if you must phone please remember she is travelling and will be about 6 hours behind Spanish time – so don’t wake her up!!

If you have to cancel after the deadline you will still have to pay!

If you have not yet paid your subscription it is due prior to the AGM.

This is 20€ per person. Please make you payment directly to the bank account.

It is vital that you give your name(s) in your paying-in details – this is variously described as descripción, concepto, referencia, remisión .  There is no need to write “subscription”
