Christmas Newsletter December 2023<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our December tasting is traditionally hosted by the President who chose the wines for the evening.  57 members were booked in to attend this tasting but unfortunately several members were unable to participate due to illness issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, 49 members attended in a convivial and relaxed atmosphere at A Bordo Club Nautica, Javea. There was no formal wine scoring and the wines selected were some that we had tasted before and some of the President\u2019s favourites.  There was also an interesting wine activity that was hosted by Sandy Fawle throughout the evening which ensured that every table participated to test their wine knowledge. The winning tables received a prize of a bottle of wine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Costa Blanca Wine Society will be held on Thursday, 18th January, 2024 in Restaurant La Senia, Hotel Nou Roma, Denia.  <\/strong>The first call will be at 6pm with the meeting starting at 6.30pm (this is the time for members to arrive and be seated). The meeting is for members only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the\u00a0meeting\u00a0Tim Fawle will stand down as President and current Committee Member Neville Richardson has indicated his willingness to stand for election as President.\u00a0\u00a0As the other Committee Members are continuing to stand for 2024 the only other vacant Committee position is that of ‘Vice President’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In accordance with our statutes any member who would like to apply to stand for the position of \u2018President\u2019 or \u2018Vice President, should please submit their application to the Secretary (paulsmithard22@gmail.com<\/a>) by Thursday 4th<\/sup> January 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The AGM will be followed by atasting at Restaurante La Senia in the hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The menu will be issued after Christmas and you will be advised when the Booking system is open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have enjoyed a great year with some interesting and innovative tastings and on behalf of the Committee we wish you a very happy Christmas and enjoy those lovely wines wherever you are!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
