TASTING REPORT SEPTEMBER 2024 – MONTESANCO TEULADA<\/p>\n\n\n

Our latest tasting was held on 19 September at the superb setting of Montesanco winery in Teulada, hosted by Neville and Sara Richardson. As part of our plan to vary the locations and types of events to which our members and guests are invited, this was a very different tasting. An excellent selection of Montesanco wines both from their Teulada vineyard and\u00a0\u00a0their Requena vineyards was presented by Maria, the owner. Originally numbers for this event were restricted to 50, however as it was very quickly oversubscribed, Maria was gently persuaded to accept 56 of us.<\/p>\n\n\n

The event was al fresco and rather than our more usual dinner in a restaurant, we had a good selection of local tapas – cocas, olives, meats, cheeses and tortilla outside the beautifully restored winery buildings. Before the tasting (after the welcome cava) we had a one hour tour of the winery and the vineyards whilst learning about the history and future plans of this fascinating sustainable project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The weather in the days before the event had been \u2018mixed\u2019 to say the least and on the evening the clouds were threatening. Thankfully, the rain held off until the very end of the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wines tasted are described below and were available to those present on the evening at a discount of 10% from usual prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
