Dear members
Not many weeks left before Christmas, so I hope that your planning is going well and that you have made any restaurant reservations that you need for the Christmas and New Year period.
On 20 November, 70 members and guests attended an excellent and innovative tasting of wines of the world, presented by Neil and Vicki. A report will shortly be available here
The next tasting on 11 December will be the President’s gala evening at A Bordo restaurant (Javea Yacht Club). Note that this event will be only three weeks after the November event, so you have a reduced amount of time to make your booking. This event is an opportunity to dress up – which for the men will be black tie, suit, or jacket and tie. We will feature my choice of favourite Spanish wines, some fun games, and perhaps even a gift for those attending.
Your welcome Cava will be available from 19.30, with dinner commencing at 20.00. A cash bar will be available for early arrivals, from 19.00. Numbers are limited to 80 at this event. It will initially be a members only event, possibly extending to pending members if numbers allow. The price for members is €45.
Whilst I would prefer that we continue with our approach of random seating (table numbers drawn out of the bag), I appreciate that some members see this as their annual opportunity to catch up with their close friends. If you would prefer to put together your own table of 8, please email me directly {president @cbws.eu} with your complete table of 8. For logistical reasons we will not accept part table requests.

Please book directly on {CBWS website} or via the link below. Booking is now open and will close at midday on 5 December after which no more bookings can be made and there will be no refunds for cancellations. If we have available spaces, pending members will be able to book places from 1 December.

The following three events will be;
On January 15 we will be holding our first tasting of 2025 at Les Rotes in Denia. (Note the change of venue, from previous years.) It will also be our AGM at which we review the activities of 2025 and the plans for 2026 and I will be standing down and handing over my role to your new President. More details of the AGM will follow and be posted on the CBWS website.It is recommended, though not essential that you attend the AGM. Please note that if you have not renewed and paid your 2026 membership fee of €30 per person, you will not be entitled to attend the AGM or to attend this tasting as a member.
On 19 February at Los Amigos in Javea, Tim and Sandy will be hosting a bodega presentation by the excellent Acustic Wines from MontSant.
On 19 March, our tasting venue will be at the Javea Golf Club where we will be exploring the Garnacha grape.
