Wine trip 2026 to the DO Vinos de Madrid
Tuesday 5th – Friday 9th May (3 nights)
Out next trip is going to be to the DO of Vinos de Madrid and we will be based in the beautiful town of Aranjuez about 35 minutes from Madrid. You can click here to view our terms and conditions and request places or via the link at the bottom of this page.
The area, DO Vinos de Madrid, was not officially recognised until November 1990. The DO now has 8,850 hectares of registered vineyards, spread over 12,387 plots and with 2,961 winegrowers who cultivate them. Most of the bodegas are still family owned. Further information on the DO can be found here
We will be staying in the 4 star NH Collecion Palacio Aranjuez which sits on the imposing square directly opposite Aranjuez Palace. This beautiful modern hotel within a building dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries is the perfect location to walk out and visit the Palace or the Royal Gardens, enjoy a walk by the Tajo river and of course enjoy the many bars nearby.
Our Plans
We will depart by private coach from Javea bus station on the Tuesday morning for the journey to Aranjuez. Shortly before arriving in Aranjuez we will stop at our first bodega where we will have a tasting and light tapas lunch before proceeding to our hotel.
We will assemble in the hotel in the evening for a short walk to a local bar for pre-dinner drinks followed by dinner in a beautiful restaurant overlooking the Tajo River.
On Wednesday we will visit two bodegas and enjoy lunch at the second. We will return to the hotel late afternoon and the rest of the day will be free for you to enjoy a visit to the palace, a walk in the town or perhaps a little drink in one of the many bars.
On Thursday we will visit one bodega in the morning then have some free time to explore the beautiful town of Chinchon before returning to our hotel. In the evening we will again meet in the hotel before proceeding to a local restaurant for drinks and a final dinner
On Friday we will visit a Bodega in the morning followed by a paella lunch before a nice sleep on the coach on the way back to Javea. We will arrive back in Javea in the early evening.
Everywhere we visit is close by and the maximum time you will be on the coach, once we arrive in Aranjuez, is about 30 minutes.
What’s included and the price
The tour includes three nights bed and breakfast in the 4 star NH Collection Palacio; all transport by coach from and returning to Javea; visits to five bodegas with the opportunity to taste and purchase wines; two receptions and dinners & two lunches and, of course, the devoted attention of your wine trip team.
The final price will depend on the number of participants but we expect it to be around €640 per person sharing a double room and €850 per person in a double room for single occupancy. (sorry but the hotel has no single rooms). Numbers are strictly limited to 34.
Requesting Places
If you would like to join us please click on the link here to view our terms and conditions and request your place(s). We will confirm if you have been successful in securing places on the trip within 2 weeks and, once your place is confirmed by Sandy, we will request a deposit of €250 per person. We will ask you for the remaining balance in March.
