Tasting Report January 2026
CBWS AGM & January tasting held on 19/01/26 at Les Rotes, Denia and attended by 56 members and guests. As usual for our first tasting of a new year it was a look back at our highest scoring wines of 2025. We did not score the wines this time. It was a very good tasting. All the wines were excellent, and the food was also of a very high quality. A good evening was had by all. Tasting Report December 2025
CBWS Tasting held on 11 December 2025 at A Bordo (Javea Yacht Club) attended by 62 members and 2 pending members. At one of our favourite venues, Neville and Sara presented the Annual President’s Gala Dinner and Tasting.The dress was formal but the atmosphere was fun and relaxed with table and individual games, competing for iconic prizes. Sara and Neville also presented each attendee with a special present marking the last Tasting of Neville’s Presidency. Notice of AGM at Hotel Les Rotes Denia on January 15, 2026 Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the Costa Blanca Wine Society will be held on Thursday, 15th January, 2026 in Hotel Les Rotes, Denia. Tasting Report November 2025
CBWS Tasting held on 20/11/25 at Jardins el Poblet Denia and was attended by 67 members and guests. Entitled Tales of the Unexpected, this evening took everyone on a trip around the world, sampling wines from areas rarely associated with wine production. El Poblet provided a fabulous Tasting Menu to complement the wine regions. Wine trip 2026 to the DO Vinos de Madrid
Tuesday 5th – Friday 9th May (3 nights) This trip is now fully booked. If you would like to be added to the waiting list in case places become available please email Sandy at winetrip@cbws.eu Out next trip is going to be to the DO of Vinos de Madrid and we will be based in the beautiful town of Aranjuez about 35 minutes from Madrid. The area, DO Vinos de Madrid, was not officially recognised until November 1990. The DO now has 8,850 hectares of registered vineyards, spread over 12,387 plots and with 2,961 winegrowers who cultivate them. Most of the bodegas are still family owned. Further information on the…

Tasting report October 2025
CBWS Tasting held on 16/10 2025 at Hotel Les Rotes , Denia and attended by 67 members and guests. This excellent evening was prepared and presented by Tony and Cherry Cabban who explored the classification of Vino de Pago. The menu was designed to pair perfectly with the chosen wines and did so very well. Vino de Pago wine sits at the summit of Spain’s wine classification pyramid. It is a category introduced by the Spanish government in 2003 to recognize the country’s exceptional estate wines.The term pago originates from the Latin pagus, meaning a rural district or estate.
